How It Works

  • STRATEGIZE

    After booking, we’ll start with a 1-hour strategy call to discuss your business and vision.

    We’ll talk about the goals for your website, style, function, map out your website pages, and talk about your content and images.

    You’ll work on writing out your content and sourcing your images.

  • BUILD

    Once the strategy is in place, the design process can begin on your scheduled design dates! I’ll use your provided branding, content, and images to design a website you’ll be proud to share with the world.

    This is a two- to four-week process from start to finish.

    During the website build, we’ll be in touch frequently via email.

  • SUPPORT

    I’ll provide a link to video tutorials on how to keep your website happy (Squarespace makes this easy). I’ll also provide you with a Website Guide with tips and guidance.

    You get 14 days of email support after your site launches. Not to mention, Squarespace’s awesome 24/7 customer service is always available to help you.

    Don’t want to make updates yourself? You can book me in the future for as little as an hour to help with your site.

Custom Web Design

    • Perfect for established and larger creative businesses. I take your branding, words, and images and turn them into a professional website.

    • 7-10 pages, including a Blog with up to 3 posts (written by you), and a portfolio with up to 25 images uploaded

    • Any legal pages such as Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, using your provided content

    • On-site SEO best practices

    • Strategy and direction

    • Mobile responsive design

    • Customized contact form

    • Connecting social media accounts

    • Linking up your domain name or moving your domain from your old site to your new one

    • 3rd Party Integrations (Eg. Calendly, Acuity, MailChimp, MailerLite, ConvertKit, Flodesk, social media accounts) You’ll set up your account with your third-party integration, and then I’ll link it to your website. However, you’ll be the one to do anything within the 3rd-party app, such as setting up your appointment times in Acuity, or creating a Flodesk automation, or designing your newsletter.

Here’s what you’ll need to provide before your website build date:

  • If you don’t have branding, I can create a basic color palette and fonts for you.

  • You’ll provide your website copy. Many of my clients write the copy themselves, but I can also make recommendations if you’d like help with this step - everything from self-paced courses to amazing full-service copywriters.

  • You’ll provide all the images on your website. Brand photography is a wonderful way to personalize your site. But if brand photography is not in your budget, you can curate stock photography and graphics. Some of my favorite resources are listed in the blog post How to Choose Awesome Photos For Your Website.

E-COMMERCE

Includes:

  • Set up Squarespace e-commerce settings (taxes, shipping, notifications, abandoned cart, etc.)

  • Loading of 5 products

  • Video recording showing you how to add additional products and update products

Squarespace Campaigns Setup

AVAILABLE AS AN ADD-ON TO ANY WEB DESIGN PACKAGE

I’ll get you set up for email marketing on Squarespace (requires an Email Campaigns subscription, paid to Squarespace)

This add-on includes:

  • importing your existing email list

  • verifying your domain and email (professional email required)

  • adding an email capture to your website

  • styling the confirmation email your users receive

  • setting up a default email template for campaigns (you provide content)

  • setting up a 3-email welcome sequence (you provide content)

 FAQ’S

  • Squarespace hosting. Cost of any 3rd-party integrations.

    Branding, logos, content writing. If you need a copywriter to help with content, shoot me an email for a recommendation!

  • I don’t offer website maintenance packages because I believe in empowering you to be able to manage your website yourself (or someone on your team). As part of the training, I’ll teach you how to update your Squarespace website yourself. I’ll also provide a Website Guide with tons of tutorials to keep your website (and you) happy. However, if you truly want help maintaining your site, I can do website updates for an hourly rate as needed (ONLY FOR WEB DESIGN CLIENTS) or you can book me for a full day.

  • I use Squarespace to design all of my websites. My clients love it because the backend is easy to use, Squarespace’s 24/7 customer support rocks, and it’s simple to update their website. Squarespace also has responsive sites which means it will look fab no matter what you view it with - cell phone, tablet, or desktop. And the biggest one for me, Squarespace is a fully-managed platform (SECURE!). This means that you never have to worry about updating your template or modules - and you don't have to worry about security issues.

  • To get your site up and running, nope! We can use typography (font) and your business name. Later, if you choose to develop more in-depth branding (which I highly recommend), you can easily add a logo to your site. I can also create an “intro brand” by choosing colors and fonts and applying them to your website. However, you WILL need to source images that will work with your brand! There are a ton of free and paid image resources out there. We can start with basic images which you can update at any time on your website in the future.

  • Before your Design time, you’ll need to be available for a 1-hour strategy call to discuss your website goals. After that, you’ll need to be available during your design time. We’ll communicate primarily through email. I can also accommodate some time zone differences, just reach out. You will, however, need to set aside time to write all your content or work with a copywriter (reach out for a quote if that’s of interest to you).

  • You have two choices: 

    1. Reschedule your Design time (this is permitted one time for non-emergency issues);

    2. I can design your site with placeholders and you can fill it in.

  • Yep! You can pay in full at the time of booking your Design time. Or you can set up a two-part payment plan with me - the first payment is due when you book your design time, with the second payment due on the last Friday of your design time. If you need additional options, please contact me.
